Freehold, coming off a winning season, has four returnees and is led by middle hitter Rebecca Cobb, who controls net play. Setter Sara Weiss, outside hitter Ellen Wu and opposite Taylor Spallanzani provide the Colonials with experience. Newcomers include Shannon Monahan (outside hitter), Tara McDonald (opposite), Molly Elslager (libero), Christy Chackonal (middle hitter) and Erica Bastry (libero). Jenn Brzucki is the Colonials’ head coach. The Colonials, who defeated Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School on Sept. 19, are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in A North after beating Colts Neck.
